The Guide Awards are presented annually to enterprises, companies,organisations, individuals and localities throughout Vietnam that contribute tothe development of Vietnamese tourism, by The Guide (Vietnam Economic Times).
TheAwards are sponsored by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the VietnamUnion of Science and Technology Associations and the Vietnam EconomicsAssociation. The Honorary Presidents are Ms Nguyen Thi Binh, former Vice State President(1999-2006) and Ms Truong My Hoa, also former Vice State President (since 2007).
TheGuide Awards are acknowledged and highly regarded by tourism enterprises andgovernment agencies.
TheGuide Awards 2009-2010 are the eleventh to be presented, with the theme “SustainableTourism Development and Environmental Protection”. Apart from the awards basedon the general criteria, “Sen xanh” (Blue Lotus) awards will also be presented tolarge enterprises with excellent environmental protection activities.
TheAward presentation is expected to be held on September 25, 2010, World TourismDay, at the Furama Resort in Da Nang city. Within the framework of the presentation,there will be other activities such as the “Environment: Challenges andCommunity Responsibility” photo contest, a conference on “Climate Change”, andother communication activities.
I. Aims of the program
-Popularise and promote Vietnamese tourism, the country and its people.
-Acknowledge and encourage enterprises, individuals and localities that contributesignificantly to the development of Vietnamese tourism, a spearhead economicsector in the country.
-Facilitate exchange and the sharing of opportunities for organisations,individuals and localities in tourism.
-Encourage enterprises to improve product quality, diversify service forms and worktowards the values of “true, good and nice”.
- Contributeto promoting the targets in Vietnam’s tourism development.
II. Subjects, requirements and registration channels
Subjects:
All legaltourism units in Vietnam are allowed to register, free of charge, to take partin the program.

- Recommendedby provincial Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism nationwide.
- Selectedby readers of The Guide and other publications of Vietnam Economic Times,including online versions.
- Recommendedby The Guide.
Requirements:
Ensureall criteria are met and be considered and ranked by the Board of Assessment.
